Meet Dr. Mac Kenzie!
Practice Owner & Veterinarian
As many of you know, Dr. Mac Kenzie joined the practice in June of 2004 as an Associate Veterinarian. In May of 2015, he officially purchased the practice and changed the name from Alpine Animal Hospital to Alpine Animal Clinic.
Dr. Mac Kenzie graduated from Washington State University in 2004 with his DVM, after obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona. He is a native of California, spent many years in Tucson, and served in the U.S. Army during the Gulf War as a voice interpreter and Arabic translator.
Dr. Mac Kenzie is also an outdoor enthusiast with a love of motorcycle touring, beer brewing, and pit bulls. He shares his home with our former foster dog and the clinic mascot - Miss Grace, a pitbull / chow mix.
Meet Dr. Wessel!
Dr. Wessel joined our staff as a Relief Veterinarian in December of 2018, and officially became our Associate Veterinarian in May of 2019.
Dr. Wessel completed her veterinary degree overseas, in Scotland. A California-native, she has spent the last few years working in Phoenix as an Emergency Veterinarian for a large-scale specialty center. She prefers the cooler climate and slower pace of Flagstaff, which brought her to us!
Dr. Wessel enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her mutt, Louie, and her flame-point Siamese, Cheddar.
Meet Our Support Staff!
Everyone knows Miss Jan! She has been with Alpine for over twenty years, and is the most recognized face at our front desk. Miss Jan shares her home with four cats and a one-eyed King Charles Cavalier rescue named Winky.
Courtney joined our team in September of 2018 as a Technician - making her our newest staff member! Courtney is possibly the most patient person any of us have ever met, and we're so lucky to have her! She shares her home with a mutt named Rogue, and three cats (as well as a husband and daughter).
Chelsea is our Cat Whisperer. She has been with Alpine since April of 2017, starting as a Receptionist. She is now a dedicated Technician, on track to become a CVT. She is also a member of AAFP. Chelsea shares her home with a Husky named Juno, a Husky-mix named Charm, and more cats than we care to count.
Sadie joined our team in July of 2019. She is new to the field and very eager to learn! She shares her home with one cat, two dogs, and participates in 4H!
Alyssa joined our team in August of 2018 as a Receptionist. You'll typically find Alyssa at our front desk with her nose in a book, and her sweet mixed-breed dog, Prim, sitting quietly behind her. Alyssa also shares her home with two cats.
Jake joined our team in July of 2017 as our Medical Director. He's on track to complete his CVT within the next year, and we know that we would be lost without his leadership. Jake shares his home with a Great Pyrenees / Malamute puppy named Dash, a mutt name Matilda, a mutt named Tazzy, and a cat named Iggy.
